Status Update: End of Week 1

This week has gone pretty good.  I have lost 9 pounds, some of which I am sure is just water.  My waist has shrunk by 2 inches and my hips by 1 inch.  I feel good.  Other than a little sledding in the park, I have had almost no exercise.  The only vitamins I am taking are potassium and chromium.

Key Measurements:

Weight: 327 pounds
Waist:  Sucked in 52 inches, relaxed 55 inches, puffed out 57 inches.
Hips:  54 inches

Key Calculations:

Body Fat:  36.37%
Lean Weight 208.8 pounds (estimated)
Pounds Lost:  9
Pounds to left to lose:  92

Hi,

Wanted to let you know I found your blog today and intend to become a follower. Like you I have lost weight following a low carb diet and then I got pregnant with number 2 and the late night staying up eating fruit snacks and drinking regular soda helped chunk me up to more than when I was ever pregnant. The baby is 5 now so really should not be using that excuse any longer. :)

Doing really well about a year ago too but then my company had us go through another reorg and I just gave up on the diet. (nervous eater!!)

So anyway, I have been blogging for about a year (mommy/craft stuff) and thought I should look up to see what low carb blogs might be out there because I know bloggers are very encouraging of each other.

So good luck - I will be checking in from time to time. The thing I need to work on is how to make this diet healthy... I know just eating cheese and meat is not the way to go but makes for a quick start!

Can't wait to try some of your recipies.

My husband and I are trying to stay on a low carb diet. He has diabetes and I have fibromyalgia.

We have both found it hard to find prepackaged items that are 1. low carb, 2. without preservatives or additives, 3. soy, and 4. no nightshade fruit (tomatoes, ALL peppers, potatoes and egg plant). Everything has these things unless they are completely fresh.

It's a hard diet to follow, but it is very worth it. We have been eating better than we ever have and we have lost 123 pounds together.

Your recipes have helped us a lot and I appreciate your hard work. keep it up! We are all here for you!

That should read 3. no soy,
